FriendBackup
FriendBackup is an application I wrote in response to a Twitter outage(in July ‘08) that caused many users to lose some of their relationships.
After download of the client, FriendBackup communicates directly with Twitter to retrieve your data, you can’t risk something that was never exposed in the first place.
It stores them in an Excel file for easy archival and import into database applications. The app does have some rate limiting logic to prevent using all API calls. It’s currently in maintenance mode(no new features planned but will fix bugs).
It was recently mentioned on Twitter Power System.
